Why smart home owners are investing in solar

As solar technology continues to advance, the cost of buying and installing a home solar system has never been more affordable. Coupled with generous government financial incentives, feed-in tariffs and record-high electricity prices, there has never been a better time for homeowners to make the switch to solar energy.

Rooftop solar systems generate electricity when it is needed most – during the day and during hot sunny periods when the demand for power (driven by air-conditioners) is at its peak.

Your system will pay for itself in no time from the savings you make on your electricity bill and the revenue generated by feed-in tariffs. You can start saving from day 1 and for years to come as electricity prices continue to rise.

IMPORTANT: The government solar incentive will reduce at the end of this year

The Government Solar Incentive Scheme offers substantial savings on the cost of home solar systems, depending on the size and location of installation and applies to new installations of small-scale renewable energy generators such as home solar systems.

Most Australians have access to the incentive, which can reduce your outlay by around 40%. When you choose Swiss Solar, we credit the rebate as a discount off the upfront cost of your system, saving you thousands!

Talk to a Swiss Solar consultant today to find out if you are eligible for the solar incentive scheme and how much you can save off the upfront cost of a home solar system.

On the 1st of July 2017, Ergon Energy increased it's feed-in tariff rate to 10 cents per kWh of energy that's exported to the grid.

If a grid-connected solar system is producing more power than is being consumed by the home, the surplus power is fed back into the mains power grid.

A solar feed-in tariff is a rate paid for this surplus power fed back into the grid from a designated renewable electricity generation source such as a rooftop solar system. Energy providers such as Ergon will pay you for this surplus power in the form of a credit on your electricity bill.

Note: Residential electricity prices increased on July 1st 2017
Start saving on your electricity bills immediately, from the moment your solar system is switched on. Depending on how your home uses energy, households can save over 60% on their electricity bills by generating their own energy, free from the sun. With added battery storage, homes can reduce their bills even further by storing excess energy produced during the day to use at night time after the sun's gone down. As electricity prices continue to increase over time, so do the savings. Households can return thousands of dollars a year back into the family budget with a home solar system.

As everyone’s needs are different and the generation potential of solar power differs from place to place, contact the team at Swiss Solar to determine the right size system for your needs and an estimate of the benefits you can expect.

Real Estate agents consider solar a revenue generating asset, meaning your property may be worth more when you sell it. Investment property owners may also be eligible to claim additional tax deductions and increase their rental return when they install solar on their investment properties.

Swiss Solar have complete home solar system packages ranging from 2kW to 6kW in size, giving added value to home owners. Packages can be customised to suit your individual needs and budget.
